What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 2:00pm and check-out is by 10:00am. Reception is open 24 hours, and we can hold luggage either side of your stay.
Is reception open late?
Reception is staffed 24 hours a day, every day. Whatever time you arrive, there is someone here to check you in.
Is parking free?
Yes — parking is free and on-site, with plenty of room across the ten acres.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Reception will give you the network details when you check in.
Do the villas have kitchens?
Yes. Every villa is self-contained with a full kitchen, including crockery, cutlery and cookware — ideal for longer stays or for families who would rather eat in.
Are the rooms non-smoking?
Every room and villa is non-smoking, and smoke alarms are fitted throughout.
Is there a laundry?
Yes — there are two coin-operated guest laundries, one in front of the villa complex and one behind reception. Reception can help with change and laundry powder.
Is there a swimming pool?
There is an outdoor pool between the motel and villa sections, open from 7:00am to 9:00pm. Children need to be supervised by an adult at all times.
Is there a barbecue area?
Yes, by the pool, with a covered area to sit and eat. Utensils are in the drawers beside the barbecues, and reception can arrange a BBQ pack for a small charge.
Do I need to book a table at the restaurant?
Walk-ins are welcome, but we recommend booking for dinner service. You can book online or call reception and we will arrange it for you.
What are the restaurant hours?
Buffet breakfast runs 6:00am to 9:00am on weekdays and 6:30am to 9:30am on weekends. Dinner is served seven days from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, with happy hour at the bar from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.
Is the restaurant open to non-guests?
Yes. Gardens Restaurant is open to hotel guests, locals and visitors alike, seven days a week.
What function spaces are available?
There are six spaces: the Musgrave Room (our largest, seating up to 150), the Atrium Room, the Retreat Room, the Board Room, the Kessels Room and the Gardens Restaurant, which can be hired exclusively. A dedicated coordinator will help you pick the right room and layout for your numbers.
What does room hire cost?
Room hire ranges from $220 for a half day in the Board Room up to $600 for a full day in the Musgrave Room, with additional hours available. Catering packages start from $50 per delegate for a half day. Contact our functions team on 0417 649 790 for a quote.
Can guests stay on site after an event?
Yes — there are 137 rooms and self-contained villas on the property, so your guests can walk from the reception straight to their room. Ask us about accommodation rates for your group.
Do you cater in-house?
All catering is prepared on site by our own kitchen — working lunches, buffets, plated dinners and cocktail service — with dietary requirements handled as standard.
Do you take group bookings?
Yes — schools, sports teams, work crews and families all stay with us regularly. Tell us your numbers and dates and we will put a rate together.
How far is the hotel from the city?
Brisbane CBD is about 15 minutes away and the airport about 25 minutes. Griffith University is directly across the road, and the Gold Coast is an easy drive south.
Where exactly are you?
281 Kessels Road, Nathan QLD 4111 — ten acres of subtropical garden, fifteen minutes south of the CBD, with free on-site parking and 24-hour reception.
